Business Need:-

Established just 6 months back, ABC Financial Corp is a growing startup providing financial services like Loans, Mutual Funds, and insurance advisory services to personal and business customers. The headquarters is located in Mumbai and the organization has been seeing a substantial growth and now has plans to expand their services across Mumbai by starting 3 branch offices in the suburbs, central, and harbor respectively.

ABC Financial Corp plans to setup an IT Infrastructure and has approached you and your team. You need to provide consultancy & implementation services.

ABC Financial Corp plans to have around 500 employees of which 200 would be remotely based with roaming profiles and they need the setup done keeping the below objectives in mind.

• Reduce maintenance charges, power footprint, recovery time, infrastructure & licensing costs.
• Achieve faster communications (external/internal) & process workflows.
• Better client/customer response, confidence, connections & growth opportunities.
• Improve business continuity & agility.
• Achieve regulatory compliance along with greater network security.
• Enhance flexibility, streamlined management, user productivity.
• Greater application & server availability, improved network access.
• Automated IT Deployment & Simplified management & administration of Infrastructure.

You are required to suggest a right sized infrastructure solution with paths for future migrations.

ABC Financial Corp wants you to propose a solution using any/all of Microsoft’s “The New Efficiency” products (Windows Server 2008 R2, Exchange Server 2010, Windows 7, with System Center, Forefront, and Internet Explorer 8 as products). Additionally you may also use any free Microsoft products / tools. However, no other product purchases will be made.

You must prepare an efficient solution and demonstrate to the CTO of ABC Financial Corp.

• The forums are open at http://www.mumbaiitpro.org/forums and we have experts available to support you with your queries.
• We will be timely uploading some additional content and materials as tips for you to learn about on the user group portal.

Registrations and Submissions:-

• You need to register your team before participating. To register, an email should be sent to info [at] mumbaiitpro.org with your team details.
• Last date of registration is 28th February, 2010. Exceptions may be made to few entries to register later on case basis.
• The last date of project submission is 31st March, 2010
• Presentations will be judged by 15th April 2010.

Judging criteria:-

• The entries will be judged by experts within the community, Global IT Community Association (GITCA) and Microsoft.
• Your project will be judged based on your presentation, content, and the creativity you may have used in making it presentable with the most efficient solution.
• The presentations should be maximum for 30 minutes.
• Presentations may be in form of Live Demos, PPTs, Screencasts etc… Better presentable, the best.
• Every submission should be accompanied with a detailed write up / documentation.
• The judging process may be announced based on the number of entries we receive:
• In case the entries are over the limit, the presentations will be judged offline in a span of 7 days over the judges convenience.
• In case the entries are within limit, you will need to attend with your team in April 2010 to one of the special MumbaiITPro New Efficiency meet during one of the Saturdays and present in front of the judges for 30 minutes max.
• The judges’ decision will be treated as final

Prizes:-

• Microsoft Arc Mouse to all the winning participants.
• The participating team should be in a team of minimum 2 to maximum 5 members.
• (All participants should be members of MumbaiITPro user group. Registration is Free.)
• The winning team will also be presenting at “The New Efficiency Community Launch Event” in Mumbai during January.
• The list of Winning Team with their picture and brief bio will be updated on the Front page of the MumbaiITPro user group portal.
• There are consolation prizes for the other participating teams. They may be (but not restricted to) MS Press books, T-shirts, Pens, Caps, etc…
